Bee’s Air Duct Cleaning is honored to support communities impacted by natural disasters, ensuring clean, safe environments in the aftermath of tragedy. Our recent work at Big Thompson Elementary School, located near the Alexander Mountain Fire in Colorado, highlights our ability to respond swiftly and effectively under challenging conditions.
Project Overview
Location: Big Thompson Elementary School, near Big Thompson Canyon
Partners: All Phase Restoration
Reason for Cleaning: Severe smoke damage from the Alexander Mountain Fire, which burned 9,600 acres, destroyed more than 50 structures, and affected air quality in the surrounding area.
Although the school itself was not damaged by the fire, its proximity to the wildfire caused significant smoke infiltration. With the school year beginning on August 15th, 2024, restoration efforts had to start before the fire was even fully contained.
Scope of Work
Our team executed a comprehensive cleaning of the school’s HVAC system, including:
- 10 rooftop units (RTUs) and all associated VAV boxes, registers, grills, and ductwork per the customer-supplied mechanical plans.
- Bathroom exhaust fans and ducts to ensure clean airflow throughout the building.
- Application of Odor X 9d9, a powerful treatment to eliminate persistent smoke odors.
- Replacement of all HVAC system filters to ensure fresh air circulation.
The cleaning was conducted in strict compliance with the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) ACR 2021 Standard, ensuring the highest level of service and safety.
Efficient Execution
With a team of 6 skilled technicians, the project was completed in just 4 days, ensuring the school was ready for students to return on time for the new school year. Despite the challenges of working in an area impacted by an ongoing wildfire, Bee’s Air Duct Cleaning delivered efficient and effective results.
